New York-New Haven prep

Preparing for NYC & New Haven Research

Thanks to so many who sponsored this research trip, I am heading to New York, New Haven, and New Hampshire this week.  In preparation for the research I phoned curators, archivists, and librarians to find out the best places to research and what preparations I can do before I arrive to get the most out of my time.

Due to their recommendations, here is what is on the docket:

Gotham: A History of New York City to 1898 by Edwin G. Burrows & Mike Wallace

Historical Maps/Buildings of New York & New Haven

Make appointments at the following Archives and Libraries:

Maritime Industry Museum & Library, NY

New Haven Museum Archives, CT

Yale Archives, CT

New York Public Library, NY

New York Historical Society, NY

Besides the Archives, I will be seeking out buildings and locations relating to the book.
